Never miss a great thrift store again.

For years, I’ve been looking for a better way to discover new thrift stores in the places I visit. I wanted a resource where I could quickly search for stores across the United States and Canada, and browse by city or region. I couldn’t find a solution that gave me everything I wanted, like lists of stores in organized tables, directions to stores, insights into what’s unique about each city, etc.; so I did what any thrifting educator with a website would do—I built one! Today, I’m thrilled to announce the launch of the Thrift Store Directory, a comprehensive list of thrift stores for shoppers in the U.S. and Canada.

What you’ll find

1. Comprehensive coverage: We mapped out over 5,000 thrift stores for the 1,000 largest cities in the United States and Canada. Every state, province, and territory in those two countries is covered. If we see a lot of interest, we can add more!
2. Detailed store information: Every store listing includes the details you need to plan your next shopping trip, including a map, link to reviews, directions from your location, and more.
3. Real customer ratings: The listings look up real ratings from Google so you can see what other shoppers think before you visit.
4. Smart organization: Browse by country, state, province, territory, or city to find stores near you or in places you’re visiting. You can also use the search tool to find matches instantly.

It’s Community-Powered

This directory is for the thrifting and resale community to raise visibility for local thrift stores. We built in tools to make it easy to suggest new stores, and for stores themselves to claim listings and add extra details like descriptions, photos, website URLs, and more.

While we’re launching the directory for the most popular cities in the United States and Canada, this is really just the first chapter. Based on feedback from visitors like you, we may expand to other regions and add more features and useful data to help promote thrift shopping. To do that, we need your help and comments so we know that the directory is being used and what people want from it.
