Setting up a Google Sheet requires that you copy our template, but don’t worry; just follow these few simple steps you’ll be up and running.
Copy the Template #
Your first step to creating a copy of the Reseller Toolkit template for your own Google account is to click the link in the email or PDF that you received after purchasing the toolkit. After signing in to Google with the account that you want to “own” the file and clicking the link, you should see a page like this:

Click the Make a copy button to proceed. That will create a copy in your own Google account that’s completely independent of the original (for privacy reasons, all data stays in your Google account; we don’t have access to it). Feel free to rename the template to whatever you want.
Protecting and sharing the file #
Yes, you can start using the template right away, but we highly recommend that you share the file with another Google account that will use (vs. own) the file instead. Here’s why:
When you create your own copy of the template, ownership of everything transfers to that account. That means no cells are protected, you can edit whatever you want—and you can break things. If you share the file with another account instead, and that account does all the data entry, then that account can’t make changes to protected cells or worksheets. There’s a much lower risk of breaking the spreadsheet.
If you choose to do this, go into the spreadsheet as the owner and click the Share button at the top right.

Enter the email address of the account you want to be the user of the account and give them Editor access. This will allow that account to enter data as needed at lower risk.
This is an optional step, but to avoid possible frustration in future, it can be a big help.
